The Ohio River Way Paddlefest - June 27 & 28 at Coney Island in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Ohio River Way Paddlefest offers races for pros and amateurs plus a leisurely float trip. Last year they had over 1,400 people in over 900 canoes and kayaks participate in the leisurely float trip! The Ohio River will be closed to barge traffic during Paddlefest, so the paddlers can safely enjoy the beautiful river. Paddlefest – June 29, 2008 on the St Joseph River in South Bend, Indiana

- 7 mile Loop half marathon

Hiawatha Paddling Festival – September 12-14 – Les Cheneaux Islands, Michigan
This event takes place along the northern shores of Lake Huron.
