    Here is a list of kayaking and canoeing events and races that has something for the whole family.

     
    Kayaking & Canoeing in Georgia

    WATERFEST X
    Ridge Ferry Park and the Oostanaula River
    Rome, Georgia
     Friday & Saturday, April 16-17, 2010
    This paddling event is a 13 mile canoe and kayak race down the Oostanaula River. All kayak and canoe classes are included.
    There will also be canoe & kayak Tug-O-Wars and a Canoe-A Thon fundraising competition. 
    This is Coosa River Basin Initiative’s annual spring paddle sports and environmental education extravaganza.
    The CRBI is celebrating ten years of paddle powered fun with a free Environmental Fair featuring the world’s largest portable aquarium, live animals shows and exhibits, children’s activities, food, music, and more.

    Riverfront Park Tampa, Florida
    According to their website:
    There will be a 5 mile race for kayaks and paddle boards and a 2 mile family fun paddle.
    The 5 mile kayak, paddle board, and paddle craft race will start from Riverfront Park on the Hillsbough River. This event will have four classes of boats:
    Class 1: surf skis, race kayaks, and anyone else with the right stuff.
    Class 2: sea kayaks
    Class 3: sit on tops, tandem, and other paddle craft
    Class 4: stand up paddle boards.
    The 2 mile family fun paddle will also start from Riverfront Park.
    Kayaks and paddle boards are available for rent.

    Kayaking and Canoeing in Pennsylvania

    The 36th annual Cameron County Canoe and Kayak Classic
    Driftwood, Pennsylvania
    Saturday, April 3, 2010
    According to their website:
    The race course is a 12 mile stretch of the Driftwood Branch of the Sinnemahoning Creek.

    This event has many classes including a junior category.

    There will also be a 2 mile youth paddle. This paddle is for any youth at least 4-5 years old.
