Here is a paddling race for kayaks, canoes, & stand up paddle boards in South Carolina.

The Patriot Challenge

Sunday, April 10th

According to their website:
All classes of kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddleboards are invited.

Recreational divisions and open divisions.

Competitive racers and recreational racers have a choice of two courses.

Three mile course:

Assault on the Ashley: This course begins at Brittlebank Park and goes one and one-half miles up the Ashley River, makes a left turn around a buoy, and returns down the river to the finish line.

Six mile Course:

Blast the Battery: This course also begins at Brittlebank Park and goes down the Ashley River towards the harbor, around the historic Charleston Battery and White Point Gardens to the Charleston Yacht Club on the Cooper River, and returns to the finish line at Brittlebank Park.

You must have your current ACA number documented on your registration form. Non ACA members will need to include five dollars for ACA event membership.

This is a kayak race & charity paddle. All proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Run, Kayak, Bike Triathlon, South Carolina

Sunday, March 7th is the Clemson Off Road Triathlon in Clemson, South Carolina. This event is held in the Issaqueena Forest.
According to their website:
You can enter the Sprint race or the Endurance race.
The Sprint race:  is a 3 mile trail run through the Issaqueena forest, then a 2 mile kayak paddle on the Issaqueena Lake, followed by a 7 mile mountain bike.
The Endurance race is a 6 mile trail run through the Issaqueena forest, a 4 mile kayak paddle on the Issaqueena Lake, then a 10 mile mountain bike.
On the trail run you’ll be surrounded by woods and lake views.
The paddle is a loop course on a 120 acre still water lake that will be closed to all other boaters.
The bike trail is built to accommodate riders of all levels and it does offer technical challenges for those with advanced skills. Riders will encounter natural obstacles that can be either ridden or bypassed.
Sign up as an individual or relay team.
Kayaks of all types will be permitted and canoes will also be allowed.
Kayak rentals will be available. Reservations must be made ahead of time.
Early registration for this triathlon has ended but you can still pre-register.
