The Altamaha River Run Canoe and Kayak Excursion
 Saturday, April 10, 2010,
Paradise Park, Jesup, Georgia

According to their website:
There will be an 8 and 16 mile family paddle with experienced guides.

The 8 mile paddle will begin at Paradise Park in Wayne County and will end at Williamsburg Landing.

The 16 mile paddle will also begin at Paradise Park and end at Altamaha Regional Park at Everett City in Glynn County.  The 16 mile paddle will have a lunch break at Williamsburg Landing.
 
Paddlers can take their cars to the take out points and will be shuttled back to the put in point at Paradise Park.
If you family does not have a canoe or kayak, their website has a list of approved kayak or canoe rental outfitters.

This paddling event sounds like it will be fun for the whole family.

2010 Kayaking Race and Fun Paddle in Florida

A kayaking event for every kayaker.

Here is a kayaking event that has something for every kayaker in my family. We have kayakers who love to race to the finish line and kayakers who love to just paddle and enjoy the scenery. We are always looking for events that offer both options and the Chasco Fiesta Kayak Race and Fun Paddle does just that.
The Chasco Fiesta Kayak Race and Fun Paddle will be held on Saturday, March 27th in New Port Richey Florida. The kayak race is 8 miles (approx) and the fun paddle 2 miles (approx). Paddling will be on the historic Pithlachascotee River.

The starting point will be at the James E. Grey Preserve. The ending point will be at Sims Park boat launch in downtown Port Richey. You will need to paddle back to the starting point at James E. Grey or arrange for your own pickup at the Sims Park boat Launch.

According to their website:
Pre-registration is recommended
All participants will receive a tee shirt
Kayak rentals are available.
