This is South Carolina’s largest one day paddle event.

Brittlebank Park is located on the Ashley River.

All recreational  kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddle boards (SUP) are invited to join in for a day of fun and fitness.

3 mile race course

Assault the Ashley: The race course begins at Brittlebank Park and proceeds north up the protected waters of the Ashley river.

6 mile race course

Blast the Battery: The race course begins at Brittlebank Park and proceeds south.

East Coast Canoe & Kayak Festival

Here are some of the events for this canoe & kayak festival.

According to their website:

They will have lectures, on water classes, and demonstrations directed to the novice and experienced paddler.

There will be commercial exhibitors that will give you a chance to try before you buy. You will be able to test boats, paddles, and accessories on the water at the festival site. You will also have the opportunity to speak with equipment designers and manufactures throughout the weekend.

Beginner classes: Sea Kayaks, Canoes, and Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP)

Sunrise and Sunset paddling Trips. These trips are intended to get paddlers together to enjoy some of the great paddling found in Charleston.

Kayak Fishing Tournament

The objective is to photograph the longest slam for your category.

Categories:

Novice: Photograph one Whiting, one Atlantic Croaker and one Spotted Seatrout per angler.

Expert: Photograph one Sheepshead, one Red Drum and one Flounder.

Folly Beach

Intermediate route: One loop with a beach sprint

Elite route: Two loops with two beach sprints

Pre-festival programs- take a course from one of the presenters prior to the festival

Post-festival programs – take a course from one of the presenters after the festival
