According to their website:

 The starting point for the race will be at the Upper Township Municipal Beach.

There are many racing divisions for canoes & kayaks. Divisions include: Men’s, women’s, senior’s, mixed, and tandem.

There are also two non-racing divisions:

The non-racing divisions are a non-racing poker run and an Eco-tour.

The Eco-tour is a tour of the upper portions of the Tuckahoe River. Starting at the beach of the Tuckahoe, paddlers will paddle up the river looking for nesting Bald Eagles and Ospreys.

Canoefest- Indiana’s Largest Canoe Race

July 1 & 2, 2011

Brookville, Indiana

According to their website:

There are three race courses.

Recreational Race – just for fun!

2.4 miles

This race is for the novice & first-timer.

The race starts at the Tailwaters of  Brookville Lake, runs the entire length of the East Fork where it then joins the West Fork and finishes at the Franklin County Conservation Club.

There are many race classes to enter including;  mens, womens, seniors, juniors, adult/youth,  mixed couples.

Biathlon Canoe/Run

 8.4 mile canoe -6.7 mile run

The Biathlon is a team race that combines the 8.4 mile USCA Canoe Race route and the 6.7 mile Quarter Marathon Foot Race route. Teams start at the Brookville Tailwaters Recreation Area.  Racers canoe down the Whitewater’s East Fork to the confluence into the main river and on down to Cedar Grove. Racers will then leave their canoes and run along scenic River Road back to Brookville.

Championship Race

11.25 miles

This race is intended for both intermediate and skilled paddlers. The race starts at the Tailwaters of  Brookville Lake to the Cottonwood Campground south of Cedar Grove.
