San Antonio, Texas
According to their website:

Over 90 canoe teams compete in the canoe challenge.

The race begins at the Chamber of Commerce, heads east through and around the Convention Center Lagoon, through the Rivercenter Mall Lagoon and ends back at the Chamber of Commerce.

Registration is for corporate or individual.
If your interested in paddling in this event you  might want to contact them to see if they are still taking registrations.
If you are too late to enter, you can still check out the San Antonio River Walk and cheer on other  paddlers.
If you have never been to the San Antonio River Walk then you might want to plan a visit.

The San Antonio River Walk is a public park, open 365 days a year. It is a network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River, one story beneath approximately 5 miles of downtown San Antonio.
The River Walk winds and loops under bridges as two parallel sidewalks, lined with restaurants, shops, hotels and more.
I have never paddled the San Antonio River but I have walked the San Antonio River Walk and had a wonderful time.  This event sounds like fun time for both paddlers and spectators.
