The Nelson Downriver race is intended for anyone interested in canoe or kayak racing – from novices to national champions.

 This is an 8 mile race through Class I to Class II+ rapids on the Tye River.

Start: Rt. 662 alongside the Tye River

Finish: Confluence of Tye River and Rucker’s Run

Important Notice: Depending upon water conditions, some rapids on this section of the Tye River can approach class III. Beginners should not attempt this run.

According to their website:

The race length is 6.5 miles.

The race starts at Little Rock’s Murray Park.

You will pass North Little Rock’s Emerald Park Cliffs on your left with the State Capital and downtown Little Rock on your right. You will paddle under 5 bridges and finish on the North Little Rock side at the Arkansas Boathouse Rowing club.

There are many racing categories for kayaks and canoes.

The Great Kayak Adventure 2011

According to their website:

There is still time to sign up for this kayaking race & scavenger hunt.

The Great Kayak Adventure will take place on Sunday, February 20th at the Oleta River State Park in North Miami, Fl.

This race is great for all skill levels from beginners to pros.

Single kayak or tandem kayak (2 person). You can even partner with other teams.

This event sounds like a lot of fun as well as a great place to meet other kayakers, experienced and beginner.

Gainesville, Georgia

The Lula Bridge Race

This paddling race will be held on March 19, 2011 on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga.

This event is a 10k & 20k race.

All classes of boats.
